Decarbonization Unit

Decarbonization

In order to achieve the country’s goal of complete carbon neutrality by 2050, it is necessary to create innovative technologies that will enable the decarbonization of society as a whole, rather than simply extending or optimizing conventional research and technologies, and to present a vision of the ideal future society and social design.
At the core of the Decarbonization Unit is the Platform of Inter/Transdisciplinary Energy Research, uniting elemental research groups such as materials and devices research, systems research, and urban habitat research, with a view to social implementation of decarbonization.
