Establishment of the Hydrogen Institute for Sustainability (HYDROGENIUS) at Kyushu University
— Forming a World-Leading Research Hub Toward the Realization of a Sustainable Hydrogen Energy Society —
Kyushu University will establish a new institute, the Hydrogen Institute for Sustainability (HYDROGENIUS), on April 1, by integrating three on-campus research centers. This initiative aims to accelerate the achievement of the University’s decarbonization mission by bringing together its accumulated intellectual resources and strengths in hydrogen research.
The new institute will be a world-unique research hub that promotes hydrogen-related activities in an integrated manner—from production, transportation, storage, and utilization to social implementation.
Ahead of its official launch in April, we will provide a detailed introduction to the institute’s concept, senior advisors, research strategies, and international initiatives, through which the institute will present a concrete vision of a next-generation hydrogen society from Kyushu to the world.
