Exhibition: The Origins and Impact of Marine Plastic ―A Global Challenge Addressed through Integrated Knowledge―

An exhibition offering insights into the ‘present’ and ‘future’ of the marine plastic problem will be held at the Fujii Gallery on Kyushu University’s Ito Campus.

Although the issue of marine plastic may seem distant to us, much of it does not originate from far away; rather, it arises when plastic used in our daily lives flows into the sea via roads and rivers, eventually breaking down into microplastics.

Drawing on recent research findings, this exhibition aims to explain the process by which marine microplastics are generated in an accessible manner, whilst also displaying actual specimens, washed-up litter and simulations of future dispersion patterns.

We look forward to welcoming you.
