Breakthrough: Development of a Compound That Improves Plant Drought Tolerance

A research group led by Professor Mieko Arisawa (Faculty of Agriculture), a participant in the Sustainable Food Resource Design Program (SIF) promoted by the Environment and Food Unit, has discovered a novel compound that enhances drought tolerance in plants.

This important achievement provides a promising avenue for addressing the growing challenge of poor crop growth caused by recent global warming and climate change.
