It has been revealed that warming and acidification caused by carbon dioxide (CO₂) are occurring in the waters off the Kamchatka Peninsula!

A research group including Professor Toshihiko Takemura, Group Leader of the Atmospheric Science Group in the Environment and Food Unit,  (Research Institute for Applied Mechanics), has revealed—based on a quarter century of observations—the acidification and changes in biological productivity in the waters off the Kamchatka Peninsula caused by anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO₂).
