This summer was too hot, and we met torrential rain in Japan. This situation is caused by climate change through global warming. To mitigate these problems, it is important to search the scientific solutions by interdisciplinary research in universities. We will hold a workshop, “Research and Beyond for climate change in Kyushu University”, by inviting speakers from different fields. In addition to the “Causes”, “Effects”, and “Countermeasures” of climate change, this workshop will also incorporate areas related to “Evaluation” from an economic and sociological perspective, which may lead to future interdisciplinary research.
The speakers’ presentations will be done with a short time frame that is easy to understand for audiences from other fields, and will have a comprehensive content. Primary aim is to share information on Kyushu University’s climate change-related research. In the panel discussion that follows the speakers’ presentations, we hope that not only the speakers but also the participants will actively present comments, making the workshop even more meaningful. We look forward to your participation.
